Proper understanding of Post Office regulations is a critical part of mailing. Futch Printing & Mailing has been working with the local USPS Bulk Mail Entry Unit for most of our existence to ensure that your mail piece gets mailed in the most efficient and cost-effective way.
If you have maintained your own mailing list, and would like to use it for a mailing list project, we will use the latest postal software to process the list. The software will check your mailing list for quality of address (CASS-certification), Move Updates (NCOA- National Change of Address), and even duplicate addresses! We are then able to use barcodes for the mailing, thus ensuring that your mail pieces qualify for automation rates, and the best postage rate.
All mail pieces must adhere to the following regulations, as set by USPS:
- The mailing panel must have adequate room for a barcode
- There cannot be extraneous information interfering with optical scanning in restricted areas; including type, graphics or color backgrounds
- The mailing indicia and all endorsements must be properly worded
Mailing Permits (Indicia)
Futch Printing & Mailing will allow the use of our company permit for organizations that do not maintain their own permit, for any mailing projects handled by us. Please contact us prior to designing and/or printing your mailpiece.
Endorsements
Endorsements are instructions that are printed on the address side of your mailing to give the Postal Service instructions on how to handle your mail if it is undeliverable as addressed. This includes instructions: Address Service Requested, Return Service Requested, Forward Service Requested, Temp Return Service Requested, and Change Service Requested. Most endorsements are the same for all classes of mail, but the treatment and cost differ by class of mail.
Please contact us for more information on pricing and how to properly set-up your printed piece for mailing.
